Getting Started

The ZeroLedger web app is the main way to use ZeroLedger: send and receive private payments, manage your balance, and earn yield—all in the browser.

Security and privacy

  • View Account — A separate login that holds encryption keys (not your funds). You approve it once with a signature from your main wallet. It never has custody of your money; it only lets the app decrypt your private balance and history.
  • Proofs in the browser — Zero-knowledge proofs are computed locally (using WebAssembly). Your private data stays on your device.
  • Encrypted local storage — View Account keys and related data are encrypted and stored on your device.
  • You approve every transaction — Each send, withdraw, or deposit requires your wallet signature, with a clear preview of what you’re doing.
  • Encrypted transaction metadata — Details of who paid whom and how much are encrypted (quantum-resistant) and only readable by you and the recipient.
  • Full history — You get a complete record of your transactions for your own checks or for sharing with a regulator if needed.

First Steps

  1. Sign In: Sign in with your email address to create your account. This sets up a secure wallet for account management and recovery.

  2. Choose Your Wallet: Select how you want to manage your funds:

    • Create New Wallet: Generate a new wallet directly in the app
    • Connect Existing Wallet: Link your existing wallet like MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rabby, or other supported wallets
  3. Set Up Privacy: The app automatically creates a View Account that handles encryption for your private transactions. This happens in the background—you'll just need to approve the setup.

  4. Deposit Tokens: Convert your public tokens into private commitments. You can deposit your own tokens or share an invoice address for others to pay you.

  5. Send Payments: Send private payments to any wallet address or ENS name. Recipients don't need to be registered—they'll receive encrypted transaction details.

  6. Withdraw Funds: Convert your private commitments back to public tokens whenever you need to.
